Let’s Meet . . . Mel LaMar

   I believe that it was October, 1975, when my wife and I were asked to conduct an activity for the children of our church. While planning the evening, I remembered a toy magic set that my brother used to have when we were just boys. After tracking down the old set, and trying to figure out how these simple tricks worked, I was impressed with the idea that these "toys" were far more than mere tricks with which to fool and/or entertain; but rather wonderful tools that I could use to capture people's attention and illustrate the message of the Gospel!

I WAS EXCITED!

   Thirty two years have passed since then, and I am    still excited, as each year God has allowed me to see hundreds of people, young and old, give their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ -- not by magic, nor by entertainment, but by His Spirit! Yet my prayer is that God will change those hundreds into thousands as I continue to offer my life to Him, for His good purpose."

   Mel LaMar, originally from Taylor, Michigan, now lives in Greeley, Colorado, with his wife, Beverly and their youngest daughter, Ali. Mel's programs are fun-filled displays of magical illusion, expert juggling, ventriloquism and song that are sure to delight both young and old. Most importantly, Mel shares the message of God's love and salvation through Jesus Christ in a crystal clear, convincing manner. A member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the International Jugglers' Association, and the Fellowship of Christian Magicians, LaMar has been performing professionally for over thirty years, and as a full-time "Magical Minister" for the past twenty five years.
